The beginnings of Twin West Reporting, founded by Myrina Kleinschmidt in 1995, can be traced to her experience realtiming the nine-month OJ Simpson trial beginning in 1994. After spending about 10 years working for a number of independent court reporting firms, Myrina was retained, along with two other reporters, to remotely realtime report the OJ Simpson trial, which was occurring in Los Angeles while she was in Minneapolis. As a result of this experience, Myrina realized that in order to be successful in this profession, she not only needed to have outstanding court reporting skills, but she needed to combine those skills with modern technologies. Following the trial, Myrina realized she wanted to open her own firm and also realized the importance of technology in the court reporting industry.
