RENEE’S CARE STORY
I was contacted a couple of weeks ago, by a former boss, attorney David Lester who is now the Chief Executive Officer of ProHealth Group, Inc. He had an idea to have a hotline where people could call for a bit of hope and encouragement during these uncertain times of COVID-19. He reached out to me and several other people in the legal and church community to record a 3-4 minute encouraging message. The message changes daily.
I was honored to participate and proud of my friend for feeling led to do this. I know being stuck at home and feeling helpless during this time causes depression, anxiety, fear, etc. and sometimes just hearing encouraging words makes a difference in someone’s day.
I was reluctant to share this story when asked because I am seeing all the wonderful things my colleagues at Veritext are doing and didn’t think I was contributing anything special – but just know that reaching out to someone by text, email, or a phone call with an encouraging word that “everything’s going to be okay” may turn their day around.
