What will happen with my employees?
By Adam Friend | Senior Vice President of Business Development
It depends on the specific situation, but generally, we look to hire staff into our company to support the existing business and anticipated growth. Talented and experienced staff is in short supply, so we try to find roles for staff even if it involves learning a new skill or shifting some responsibilities. Our goal in every deal is to find a good home for the talent you’ve developed and minimize disruption to the staff and overall business. Clients and reporters like to continue work with the people with whom they’ve become accustomed, and we want to maintain that personal connection.
With respect to compensation and benefits, we look for employees to have an overall package that is at least as attractive as what they had pre-sale, in most cases more attractive. Our track record is that employees from acquired business find long term careers with Veritext, where there are typically more opportunities for promotion, increased responsibility, and compensation, as well as lateral and vertical mobility.
