Thanks for joining the Summer Camp 2021 Talent Show!
Your participation is what makes Summer Camp fun and exciting. We are so thrilled you have chosen to be a part of this fun-tastic event and can’t wait to put together a show to “wow” the Veritext world! Like a tasty assortment of GORP this year’s Starlight Talent Show is packed with talents that range from singing, to modern dancing, and poetry to pet tricks! It’ll be a wild time! All submissions are due by July 13th, you can upload them here or by selecting the button at the bottom of the page and following the basic instructions.

REMINDERS FOR CREATING YOUR TALENT SHOW ENTRY . . .

KEEP IT FUN!

This is a light-hearted and fun week! So be creative and have fun while creating your entry!

KEEP IT CLEAN!

Though it’s fun, we want to keep our talent entries HR-approved, non-controversial and  G-rated. A good rule of thumb is if it raises a question of controversy in your mind, then go ahead and avoid it! Thank you for making the talent show a safe space for all!

We’ve created a list of helpful tips and best practices below to create a high quality video! Check them out!

PRODUCTIONS POINTERS

Helpful tips to enhance your performance!

  • CONSIDER LIGHTING

    Check to ensure your video is lit up well. Check for awkward shadows and keep light sources in front of you for the best outcome!

  • CONSIDER SOUND

    Check for background noise. Noise interference from traffic, leaf blowers, children, pets and more can all contribute to background sound that could make it difficult to hear your video. Do your best to record in a quiet space.

  • CONSIDER YOUR BACKGROUND / SET

    The Talent Show is on Formal and Fancy Friday, so feel free to decorate your background according to the them. Or, if inspiration strikes, coordinate you background with your very own talent! The options are endless!

  • CONSIDER YOUR CAMERA POSITION

    If you are using a phone to record your video, be sure that the phone is horizontal. A horizontal video will result in a better playback for the viewers. Think about using a phone tripod or a friend to help you hold the phone or video camera you are using. If it’s easier to record through zoom you can do that, too!

  • CONSIDER TIME

    Try to keep your talent show entry to the length of a song and not to go beyond 5 minutes if possible.

  • CONSIDER AN INTRODUCTION

    Introduce yourself at the beginning of your video:

    • Name
    • Title
    • Office Location / Location

  • CONSIDER YOUR ATTIRE

    Pull out those tiaras and top hats! Since the Talent Show is on Formal and Fancy Friday, we encourage you to dress to the occasion to maintain the fun spirit of the day. Or, if creativity strikes dress for your talent! Have fun with it!
